Cleveland Guardians & Minnesota Twins Complete Trade
The Minnesota Twins have acquired Sandy Leon from the Cleveland Guardians in exchange for Ian Hamilton.
Leon will provide the Twins with more insurance behind the plate as they gear up for the postseason. In eight games this season with Cleveland, Leon had a .133 batting average. Although he hasn't taken the world by storm in the majors this season, he is a 508-game veteran and can work well as a backup.
Hamilton, on the other hand, made one appearance as a Twin this season. During it, he surrendered two earned runs in 2.2 innings pitched. He simply will give the Guardians another bullpen option, if they wish to give him a call-up before the season is out.
