Chicago Cubs Claim Outfielder Off Waivers
The Chicago Cubs have claimed Franmil Reyes off waivers from the Cleveland Guardians.
Although the Cubs are well out of playoff contention, they decided to make a very intriguing addition in Reyes. In 70 games this season with Cleveland, he struggled, as he had nine home runs, 28 RBIs, and a .213 batting average. Yet, he is also just a year removed from hitting 30 home runs and has another 37-home run campaign on his resume. Thus, there's reason to believe he could bounce back.
Reyes is under team control for the next two years, so if he rebounds, the Cubs could have themselves a steal of waiver claim. Let's see how the slugger performs from here.
