Cardinals Recall Rookie Slugger
One week after being activated from the injured list and optioned to Triple-A, the St. Louis Cardinals have recalled him.
The Cardinals have called up Juan Yepez from Triple-A Memphis.
#STLCards manager Oliver Marmol said he’s excited about having OF/IF Juan Yepez back for the series against the #Braves because there could be plenty of pinch-hit opportunities in this series against lefthanded pitching out of the bullpen.

The move comes as a result of Nolan Arenado being placed on the paternity leave, meaning Yepez will likely end up having a pretty short stay in the majors this time around.
The twenty-four-year-old rookie has been quite solid in his debut, hitting .254/.298/.459, with 11 home runs, 27 RBIs and 24 runs scored in 62 games.
Yepez is not in the Cardinals' lineup for Friday's game against the Atlanta Braves.
