Braves Talented Young Starter Beginning Rehab Assignment; Has Not Pitched Since August 03, 2020
It's a comeback story you love to see.
Mike Soroka has not pitched since August 03, 2020, but is set to begin a rehab assignment on Tuesday with High-A Rome. The twenty-five-year-old starter is coming back from a twice-ruptured right Achilles and three surgeries on it.
Soroka first tore his Achilles in August 2020, and again in June 2021 while rehabbing.
Mike Soroka coming back in September and taking the world by storm would be some kind of magic. He might be the easiest guy to root for in the #Braves org.

It's been a small sample size, but Mike Soroka is a very good pitcher.
As a rookie in 2019, Soroka finished sixth in Cy Young voting. His numbers from that year were fantastic, posting a 2.68 ERA, a 1.11 WHIP, and 142 strikeouts across 174 innings. He finished with a strong 13-4 record. Soroka also led the league in home runs allowed per nine innings, with 0.7.
He's going to need at least a couple of rehab starts before becoming an option for the Atlanta Braves this season.
