Boston Red Sox Designate Pitcher For Assignment
The Boston Red Sox are set to designate Austin Davis for assignment before Monday's contest against the Minnesota Twins.
Ultimately, this is a decision that could have been predicted at the end of the day. In 50 games this season, Davis has a 2-1 record to go along with a 5.47 ERA. Those numbers aren't particularly impressive, and now Davis has lost his spot on the 40-man roster because of it.
Davis will now be placed on waivers. If he clears, he has the option to elect free agency due to his 134 games of experience. Let's see what happens with him from here.
