Boston Red Sox & Chicago White Sox Complete Trade
The Red Sox have acquired Reese McGuire and a player to be named later or cash from the White Sox in exchange for Jake Diekman.
This move comes after the Red Sox traded Christian Vazquez to the Astros. McGuire will now provide the Red Sox with more depth behind the plate as they aim to finish the 2022 season on a high note. In 53 games this year, he has zero home runs, 10 RBIs, and a .225 batting average.
Diekman, on the other hand, will be joining the White Sox's bullpen. It's been a year of mixed results for the veteran reliever, as he has a 5-1 record and 4.23 ERA. Overall, he has the potential to be a solid addition.
