Athletics Recall Two Players

The Oakland Athletics have called up infielder Dermis Garcia and pitcher Jared Koenig. 

The A's have recalled LHP Jared Koenig and INF Dermis Garcia from Triple-A Las Vegas. The A’s also optioned RHP Norge Ruiz to Las Vegas and placed OF Skye Bolt on the 10-day injured list with a right knee patella subluxation.

With Skye Bolt heading to the injured list, Garcia provides some added depth to the Athletics bench. The twenty-four-year-old has hit .250/.318/.350 with one RBI in his first eight games in the majors this year. 

In the minors this year, Garcia has hit .264, with 51 runs scored, 13 home runs, 44 RBIs and four stolen bases. in 239 at-bats.

Starter Jared Koenig has been recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas. 

In his MLB debut, Koenig has posted a 6.39 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 13 strikeouts in 25 innings. In the minors this season, the twenty-eight-year-old has been nothing special, posting a 4.20 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and 97 strikeouts over 96 innings. He's posted a 5-5 record across 17 games.
