The injury occurred as Diaz was running down a Yasmani Grandal line drive in the third inning of Tuesday's game against the Chicago White Sox and reportedly tweaked his left groin. It's unfortunate timing for Diaz, and the Astros, as he had been playing quite well as of late.
The thirty-two-year-old utility player downplayed the injury when speaking with reporters post-game, saying that he hopes he'll wake up the next day and feel fine. However, even a slight strain would require an absence, so that remains to be seen.
