Arizona Diamondbacks & Kansas City Royals Make Trade

Two sellers have completed a one-for-one deal, as the Royals have acquired Luke Weaver from the Diamondbacks in exchange for Emmanuel Rivera.

Weaver has had a very rough go of things in 2022. In 12 appearances with Arizona, he has a 1-1 record to go along with a disastrous 7.71 ERA. A change of scenery may be a good thing for him, as it will allow him the chance to reset from what has been a nightmare of a campaign for him.

Rivera, on the other hand, will be hoping to land himself a permanent spot on the Diamondbacks' major league roster. In 63 games this season, he has six home runs, 22 RBIs, and a .237 batting average.
