Veteran Reliever Hitting The Free-Agent Market
Sergio Romo is moving on from the Blue Jays, as the veteran reliever has elected to become a free agent instead of accepting an assignment to Triple-A.
Romo was designated for assignment by Toronto earlier this week and will now be looking for a new home. With the playoffs not too far away, there could be teams around the league willing to give him a shot. Keep in mind, he is a 15-year veteran, after all.
In 821 career games, he has a 42-36 record to go along with a 3.21 ERA. With that, he has accumulated 137 saves and is a one-time All-Star. Teams who could have him on their radar - the Red Sox, Twins, and Dodgers.
