In 36 games played for the Royals this season, Olivares has been very good, hitting .303/.434/.792, with three home runs, 12 RBIs, and two stolen bases. It's unclear when or how the twenty-six-year-old sustained the injury.
First baseman Nick Pratto has been recalled from Triple-A Omaha. Pratto was one of the players called up to replace the unvaccinated Royals players for their series in Toronto the other week. In those games, Pratto hit .286, with one home run and one RBI.
The twenty-three-year-old is the Royals' second-ranked prospect and MLB ranked number 69.
