Royals & Braves Complete Trade
The Royals have acquired Drew Waters, Andrew Hoffman, and CJ Alexander from the Braves in exchange for the 35th overall pick of the 2022 draft.
Waters is the biggest name in this deal. The outfielder was once among the Top 100 prospects in baseball, but things have changed on that front. Yet, perhaps a change of scenery can help him get back on track. Who knows? Maybe we could even see him in the majors before the season is out.
Hoffman has spent this campaign with Single-A Rome. It's been a very good year for the 22-year-old, as he has a 7-2 record and 2.36 ERA. He still has plenty of development to go through before hitting the bigs, but he is off to a very good start with it.
Alexander has spent this season with Double-A Mississippi, where he has 15 home runs, 43 RBIs, and a .258 batting average in 68 games.
