Rockies Acquire Pitcher From Phillies
The Colorado Rockies have added a pitcher from the Philadelphia Phillies, in return for cash considerations. Corey Oswalt joins Colorado and will head to Triple-A Albuquerque, from the Phils' Triple-A squad, with a chance to join the big club.
Today the #Rockies have acquired RHP Corey Oswalt from PHI in exchange for cash. This gives COL some added SP depth in AAA. This season 17 GP (7 starts) in AAA w/ SF and PHI, Oswalt is 3-4 w/ a 6.11 ERA in 35.1 IP, 31 SO, 15 BB. Cont.

Oswalt, 28, hasn't appeared in a big league game yet this season, but pitched in 26 games for the New York Mets from 2018-21, starting 14 of them. The 6-foot-5 right-hander had a 4.81 ERA in the 14 starts, but a 5.89 ERA overall. He hasn't fared too much better in Triple-A this season, pitching to a 6.11 ERA in the San Francisco Giants and Phillies organizations.
He was a 7th-round pick of the Mets in 2012, and overall has a very nice resume in the minors, with a 55-31 record and a 3.64 ERA. The Rockies are hoping he can recapture some of that, and contribute at the major league level at some point.
