Red Sox Pitcher to Return This Weekend

The Red Sox will be getting a valuable arm back this weekend in Garrett Whitlock.

Whitlock is expected to return from the injured list and join the Red Sox bullpen at some point this weekend.

The twenty-six year old made it through his second minor league rehab outing with Double-A Portland, throwing two scoreless innings, striking out one and allowing just one hit.

Whitlock holds a 3.51 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 49 strikeouts over 48 innings this season in the majors.

The Red Sox are 3-7 in their last 10 games, currently tied for third in the AL East with a 47-42 record.
