Rays Sign Outfielder
The Tampa Bay Rays have signed outfielder Roman Quinn to a one-year contract.
The Rays have signed OF Roman Quinn to a major league contract. To make room on the active roster, OF Harold Ramírez (right thumb fracture) was placed on the 15-day IL, retroactive to July 18. To make room on the 40-man roster, RH Cristofer Ogando was designated for assignment.

Quinn just recently opted out of a minor league contract with the Royals and shortly after secured this major league deal from the Rays.
The twenty-nine-year-old has played just 23 major league games this season, all with the Phillies.
For his career, Quinn has batted .223/.300/.343, with eight home runs, 41 RBIs, and 43 stolen bases. Across his six-year career, the outfielder has only played 201 games in the major leagues, all with the Phillies.
Despite his weak bat, Quinn brings above-average defense to the Rays' outfield.
Interestingly enough, the Rays face the Royals this weekend, the team that just let Quinn go for nothing.
