Rays Designate Pitcher For Assignment

The Rays have designated Dusten Knight for assignment.

Knight has been in Triple-A, so this move doesn't impact the major league squad necessarily. Yet, Knight's removal from the 40-man roster means that he cannot receive a call-up. With that, the Rays have until the end of the week to either trade him or place him on waivers. 

Knight made four appearances for Tampa Bay this season, where he had a 0-1 record and 4.50 ERA. It will be interesting to see if another team decides to take a chance on the 31-year-old from here.
