Rangers Pitcher Headed to Injured List

The Rangers have placed pitcher Joe Barlow on the 15-day injured list with a blister on his right index finger.

Not a great past few days for Barlow, who was removed from the closer's role after blowing consecutive save chances last week. It is worth noting that Rangers' manager Woodward said he still believes Barlow can close, but just wants to take some stress off him.

On the season, the twenty-six year old has a solid 3.18 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 22/8 K/BB ratio over 28 innings. He has converted 13 of 17 save opportunities this season.

Josh Sborz was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move. The twenty-eight old has allowed 10 runs over 10 innings pitched with the Rangers this season. He'll add some depth to the Rangers' bullpen.
