Philadelphia Phillies & St. Louis Cardinals Make Trade
The Cardinals have traded Edmundo Sosa to the Phillies in exchange for JoJo Romero.
Sosa has been a backup infielder for the Cardinals in 2022. Overall, he has gotten into a good amount of action due to his ability to play several positions in the infield. In 53 games this season, he has zero home runs, eight RBIs, and a .189 batting average. It's been a bit of a rough year at the plate for Sosa, but perhaps a move to Philadelphia can help change that.
Romero, on the other hand, is a young pitcher who is trying to cement himself as a full-time MLB player. In 25 career games over the last three seasons, he has a 0-0 record to go along with a 7.89 ERA. He will be hoping to get more chances with the Cardinals from here.
