Padres Pitcher Throwing; Set to Return Next Month

The Padres had some positive news over the weekend, as pitcher Drew Pomeranz successfully threw another bullpen session on Sunday.

Pomeranz continues to throw bullpen sessions as he recovers from surgery, last August, to repair a torn flexor tendon in his left arm. The issue was something that's reportedly been bothering the thirty-three year old for the past several years.

Hopefully, the surgery cleared that issue up and the left-handed pitcher will be able to rejoin the Padres bullpen, as scheduled, sometime in August.

Pomeranz only appeared in 25 innings in 2021-22, but was very good, posting a 1.75 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 30 strikeouts.

The Padres are currently 10th in the MLB in team ERA, with a 3.77 ERA, and the return of Pomeranz and Johnson within the next month will give the club a big boost in this area.

Hopefully, they can stay healthy.
