Padres Outfielder Could Return Friday

Jurickson Profar has a chance to be activated Friday for the Padres' series opener against Arizona.

Profar has not played since July 07, after an ugly collision with CJ Abrams where both players were chasing a shallow fly ball. He was diagnosed with a concussion following the collision, but it looks like it could be a minimum stay on the injured list for Profar.

The twenty-nine year old played a rehab game Thursday for Single-A Lake Elisinore, going hitless in four at-bats with two strikeouts.

Profar is enjoying a decent season thus far, hitting .242, with eight home runs, 38 RBIs and four stolen bases.

Since Profar went down, Padres' prospect Esteury Ruiz has been filling in, quite nicely too. In three games played, Ruiz has batted .333/.583/.916, with one RBI and a stolen base. A small sample size of course, however, the twenty-three year old has put up phenomenal stats in the minors this season and it would be foolish for the team not to see what the youngster can provide at the major league level.
