He's earned it.
Between Double-A and Triuple-A this season, Ruiz has hit .333/.467/.560 with 13 home runs and 46 RBIs. Yes, those are impressive numbers over 77 games, but Ruiz has also swiped an absurd 60 bases and scored 84 runs. He leads the minors in both those categories this season.
Ruiz has been added to the Padres' taxi squad and while he has not yet been added to the roster it most likely will happen soon, after Profar suffered a concussion and was added to the seven-day injured list last week.
With top prospect C.J Abrams already on the Padres, and now Esteury Ruiz, the team makes for some must-watch baseball.
