Nationals Re-Sign Veteran Infielder
The Nationals are bringing back Dee Strange-Gordon on a minor league contract.
Strange-Gordon was released by the Nationals last month, but it was a little bit of a surprising decision at the time. The 34-year-old played well for DC when called upon, as he had zero home runs, two RBIs, and an impressive .305 batting average. With numbers like these, it isn't too surprising to see Washington decide to bring him back.
Strange-Gordon is a grizzled veteran, so that could help his chances of receiving another call-up. In 1,024 career games between the Dodgers, Marlins, Mariners, and Nationals, he has 18 home runs, 236 RBIs, and .286 batting average. With that, he is a two-time All-Star.
