MLB Rumors: Trade Talks Heating Up For Boston Red Sox Catcher

The Red Sox are continuing to lose and are not showing any signs of improvement. At this point, it seems more and more likely that they will be sellers. As a result of this, trade talks centering around Christian Vazquez have been heating up.

MLB insider Jon Heyman recently reported that the Red Sox are in fact listening to offers for their veterans - which of course includes Vazquez. Teams in need of an upgrade behind the plate should give the Sox a call about the pending UFA from here.

Vazquez is having a very solid year at the plate, and the truth is in his stats. In 83 games, he has a .283 batting average to go along with eight home runs and 41 RBIs. Let's see where the veteran ends up from here.
