MLB Rumors: St. Louis Cardinals & Cleveland Guardians Talking Trade

According to Jeff Passan, the Cardinals are frontrunners to land Zach Plesac from the Guardians.

Although the Guardians are in the playoff hunt, they are still building up their roster. With Triston McKenzie and Shane Bieber being the team's one-two punch, they can afford to move Plesac if it improves their roster elsewhere.

The Cardinals are looking to strengthen their rotation before the playoffs, so it makes sense that Plesac is on their radar. He could be a decent addition to the second half of their rotation. Yet, he has struggled a bit this campaign, as he has a 2-8 record and 4.09 ERA.
