MLB Rumors: Royals Veteran Pitcher Likely Staying Put

According to Jon Heyman, the Royals have no plans to trade Zack Greinke unless he requests to be moved.

Greinke surprisingly returned to the Royals this past offseason for the first since 2010. At this point of the campaign, he sports a 3-5 record and 4.52 ERA in 14 starts. Although he isn't pitching like the All-Star he once was, he still could be a solid bottom-of-the-rotation pitcher on a contender. Yet, if he doesn't ask for a trade, one isn't going to happen - based on Heyman's report.

It will be intriguing to see if Greinke ends up requesting a trade, but at this juncture, expect him to stay put in KC.
