MLB Rumors: Boston Red Sox DH Garnering Trade Interest

As we get closer to the trade deadline, the Red Sox are continuing to lose. They have won just three out of their last 10 games. With that, they have been outscored 55-8 over their last three games - which includes a 28-5 loss to the Blue Jays on Friday. Signs are beginning to point to the team becoming sellers at the deadline, and J.D. Martinez's name is once heating up in the rumor mill.

Although the Red Sox are still in the Wild Card hunt, a playoff berth is continuing to seem less and less likely. Martinez is set to become a UFA at season's end, so it would be wise for them to at least consider moving him at the deadline. At this juncture, landing some prospects could do Boston well.

Alas, we will have to wait and see if Martinez gets moved. Teams to look out for in the sweepstakes include the Mets, Padres, and Mariners.
