MLB Rumors: Pittsburgh Pirates Closer Garnering Trade Interest
The Pirates have not been a competitive team for quite some time, and they once again will be sellers at the deadline because of it. As a result of this, trade talks involving David Bednar have reportedly been heating up.
Although the Pirates are not completely certain about moving Bednar, it's clear that plenty of teams want to add him to their bullpen. Pittsburgh should consider at least the possibility of trading him, however, as his trade value is at its highest. With the Pirates rebuilding, they could land some valuable assets in a move centering around Bednar.
Bednar is having a career year in 2022, as he was named to his first All-Star Game. In 37 appearances, he sports a 3-3 record, 2.89 ERA, and 16 saves. Adding that kind of arm to a contender's bullpen would be massive, so let's see if a big move comes to fruition from here.
