The New York Mets are looking for a DH and are actively exploring the trade market as a result of this. According to Michael Mayer, the Mets have been engaging in trade talks with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Who are they pursuing? Daniel Vogelbach.

We recently reported that the Pirates are looking to move Vogelbach. Now, with this report by Mayer, we now know that the Mets are a team who have him on their radar. It ultimately makes sense, as the veteran could be a decent option to have at DH.

Vogelbach would give the Mets a bit more power in their lineup. In 75 games this season, he has 12 home runs, 34 RBIs, and a .228 batting average. This has been his best year since his 2019 All-Star campaign, so clearly, he is feeling it right now. Let's see if the Mets and Pirates end up pulling the trigger on a move from here.
