MLB Rumors: Detroit Tigers Catcher To Be Moved
As a part of their offseason of spending, the Tigers acquired Tucker Barnhart from the Reds. Yet, after a horrible season from Detroit, they are expected to move the pending UFA just a few months after landing him.
Barnhart isn't known for his hitting ability. During this season, he has yet to hit a home run in 62 games. With that, he has just nine RBIs and a .208 batting average. Yet, he still brings value because of his excellent fielding ability - as his two Gold Glove Awards show effectively.
Playoff-bound teams looking for a boost behind the plate could consider giving Barnhart a shot. He could work well in a tandem, so let's see if a move comes to fruition from here.
