MLB Rumors: Chicago Cubs To Trade Pitcher
The Cubs are clear sellers and will be making multiple moves before the deadline passes. One pitcher who is starting to get attention from around the league is Drew Smyly.
Smyly has quietly had a solid season with the Cubs, so it would be wise to move while his trade value is higher than normal. In 12 games thus far, he sports a 3-5 record to go along with a 3.93 ERA. With these numbers, it's fair to say that he could be a good addition to a contender's rotation. This is especially true if utilized as a four or five starter.
It will be intriguing to see what happens with Smyly from here, but don't be surprised to him moved before the deadline passes.
