MLB Rumors: Boston Red Sox Listening To Offers For DH

The J.D. Martinez rumors are continuing to heat up, as it has now been confirmed by Buster Olney that the Red Sox are listening to offers for the veteran DH.

This isn't surprising to hear at all, as the Red Sox have been playing terrible baseball as of late. They have taken a nosedive in the standings because of this and sport a 49-48 record. The playoffs are continuing to look further and further away, so moving a pending UFA like Martinez for a nice return makes sense.

Martinez should get a ton of interest around the league for his services. In 81 games this season, he has nine home runs, 38 RBIs, and a .302 batting average. With that, he was named an All-Star for the fifth time in his career. Expect teams in need of some offense to make big pushes for the veteran from here.
