MLB Rumors: Athletics Shopping All-Star Pitcher
The Athletics are ready to continue their full-on rebuild at this year's trade deadline. As a result of this, they are listening to offers for Paul Blackburn.
Blackburn is having a year to remember with the Athletics, as he made his first All-Star Game. In 18 starts on the year, he sports a 6-5 record to go along with a 3.62 ERA. At this juncture, his trade value is at its highest, so Oakland is at least considering the possibility of moving him at the deadline. Keep in mind, this is a starter who cleared waivers just last season.
Teams looking to bulk up their rotation should call the A's about Blackburn. Some clubs who could express in the 28-year-old include the Rangers, Braves, Phillies, and Cardinals.
