Miami Marlins Pitcher Designated For Assignment

The Marlins have designated Jimmy Yacabonis for assignment.

Yacabonis has had his struggles in the majors this season, so perhaps his removal from the 40-man roster could have been predicted. In nine games thus far, he sports a 1-1 record to go along with a high 6.75 ERA. That just is not enough, and now the five-year veteran will either be traded or placed on waivers by the end of the week.

It will be intriguing to see if another team decides to take a chance on Yacabonis from here. In 66 career games, he has a 4-6 record and 5.80 ERA.
