Mets Veteran Outfielder Elects Free Agency

Last week, the Mets designated Ender Inciarte for assignment. After clearing waivers, the veteran outfielder has decided to elect free agency instead of accepting an assignment to Triple-A.

Inciarte played in 11 games for the Mets this season. During them, he had eight at-bats, where he had one hit. Overall, it was a rather uneventful and short tenure with the Mets, but Inciarte will be hoping that his long MLB resume can help him land a new home from here.

In 868 career games between the Braves and Mets, Inciarte has 42 home runs, 263 RBIs, and a .280 batting average. With that, he has three Gold Glove Awards and is a one-time All-Star.
