The twenty-seven year old, out since late-May due to back stiffness, would figure to get a few more rehab appearances before rejoining the Marlins' bullpen in August sometime.
In 14 innings pitched this season, Bender has thrown a 4.50 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts. He's also converted six of eight save opportunities.
Bender would figure to be an attractive trade candidate for contending teams looking to add some bullpen depth at a relatively cheap price.
