Mariners Release Catcher

The Seattle Mariners have released catcher Andrew Knapp.

Knapp only appeared in two games this season with the Mariners and did not record a hit. Seattle claimed him off waivers from Pittsburgh earlier this season, where he appeared in 11 games and hit just .129 with two RBIs.

This is Knapp's sixth MLB season, having spent all five seasons before with the Phillies. He's never had much success at the major league level, batting just .209 in his career, with 13 home runs and 64 RBIs in 322 games.

Perhaps another team will claim the thirty-year-old and give him another shot, but it's not like he has exactly earned it.
