Mariners Outfielder to Return Following All-Star Break

Mariners outfielder Kyle Lewis has homered five times in his last eight minor league rehab games for Triple-A Tacoma.

Lewis has also been playing right field routinely, which is a very encouraging sign. He's been out since late May with a concussion.

Mariners manager Scott Servais recently said that it was possible Lewis rejoins the team following the All-Star break and that appears almost certain now, seeing that the twenty-seven year old is crushing the ball in Triple-A.

In 23 rehab plate appearances, Lewis has hit five home runs with 12 RBIs.

Lewis has only seen 15 plate appearances at the major league level this season, and has hit .267, with two home runs and three RBIs in those games.

The Mariners will get a big boost with Lewis returning, not that they really need it though, as the club has fired off 14 straight victories and is, all of a sudden, sitting in the second AL Wild Card spot with a 51-42 record.
