Guardians Catcher Clears Waivers
Sandy Leon has cleared waivers and accepted his assignment back to Triple-A Columbus. Due to this MLB experience, he had the option to elect free agency, but he instead will be staying with the Guardians organization from here.
Leon appeared in eight games for the Guardians during his second tenure with the club. During them, he had a .133 batting average.
If injuries end up occurring behind the plate, don't be surprised to see Leon get another shot with the major league squad. In 508 career games between the Nationals, Red Sox, Marlins, and Guardians, he has 31 home runs, 141 RBIs, and a .211 batting average.
