Giants Shortstop to Return This Month

Brandon Crawford underwent an MRI on Sunday which revealed inflammation and bruising in his left knee. This is good news for the shortstop as it reveals nothing seriously wrong.

Crawford has dealt with persistent knee issues this season, hitting the injured list on June 26 with left knee inflammation. This past weekend, the veteran was again placed on the injured list, this time with right knee problems.

Crawford is reportedly expected to receive a cortisone shot and be ready to rejoin the Giants' roster when he's first eligible, later this month.

The thirty-five year old has hit a poor .215/.297/.332, with five home runs, 33 RBIs, and one stolen base in 72 games.

Crawford is not used to injury in his career, playing the most career games for a shortstop in Giants' franchise history. Age appears to be slowing catching up to him, however, as this is the third injury that Crawford's sustained this season.

Let's hope this is the last time he has to hit the injured list this season.
