Giants Activate Infielder and Starter from Injured List

It's a good day for the Giants as they get back two players from the injured list. Infielder Evan Longoria and starter Jakob Junis have been activated from the injured list.

Longoria was heating up before he suffered his injury, a left oblique strain, that's kept him out since July 06. The thirty-six year old is hitting .242/.331/.462 on the season, with eight home runs and 18 RBIs in 132 at bats. He's starting Saturday's game, batting fourth in the lineup.

Pitcher Jakob Junis has been activated from the 15-day injured list. The right-hander is healthy following a Grade 2 left hamstring strain, that's kept him out since the middle of June. The twenty-nine year old has enjoyed a solid season thus far, posting a 2.63 ERA, 0.96 WHIP, and 40 strikeouts across 48 innings.

He'll rejoin the Giants' rotation now that DeSclafani is injured again.

The Giants are currently 46-43, one-and-a-half games back of the Cardinals for the third NL Wild Card spot.
