Freddie Freeman Ready to Represent Team Canada at World Baseball Classic Next Year

Freddie Freeman wants to represent Team Canada once again.

The thirty-two year old All-Star has said he is interested in playing for Team Canada at the World Baseball Classic next year and has already had conversations regarding it.

Freeman represented Canada at the 2017 World Baseball Classic, where the team was pretty brutal, losing all three of its matches. However, Freeman's ready to run it back with Team Canada, saying he's "100% in" on playing for them next year.

According to Sportsnet, Freeman said, regarding playing for Team Canada, "If they ask me, I'm 100% in. I talked to Tyler O'Neill in St. Louis and Stubby Clapp is their first-base coach, I want to play for Team Canada." Freeman went on to say that he asked the Dodger's president of baseball operations, Andrew Frideman, if the Dodgers would allow players to participate in the World Baseball Classic and he said they would.

All that's left is for Team Canada to extend the invitation to the superstar first baseman.

And they certainly will.

Freeman is having another amazing season, batting .321, with 13 home runs, 59 RBIs, and seven stolen bases.

Although Freeman is born in Fountain Valley, California, both of his parents are Canadian, making him eligible to play for Canada.

Canada would figure to produce a stronger team next season, with eligible players featuring, Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Freddie Freeman, Tyler O'Neill, Josh Naylor, Joey Votto, Abraham Toro, and Otto Lopez.

Their pitching staff could also feature significant names, such as, Mike Soroka, Nick Pivetta, James Paxton, Jordan Romano, Matt Brash, Cal Quantrill, Rowan Wick, and Zach Pop.
