Chicago Cubs Sign First-Round Pick
The rebuilding Cubs have made a big move, as they have signed first-round pick Cade Horton to a $4.45 million signing bonus.
Horton was selected with the seventh overall pick of this year's draft. Naturally, he is viewed as having a lot of potential because of this and should be a part of Chicago's pitching staff for many years.
Horton sported a 5-2 record and 4.86 ERA in 14 games with Oklahoma this season. Yet, his dominance during the College World Series is what led the Cubs to take a chance on him with their first-round pick. Now, the youngster will continue to work on his development. Let's see when he can officially make it to the bigs from here.
