Cubs Call Up Pitcher

The Cubs have called up Erich Uelmen to their major league roster.

Uelmen has spent all of the 2022 season with Triple-A Iowa and has looked solid in the process. In 28 appearances with the minor league squad, he has a 3-3 record and 2.79 ERA. He will now be aiming to bring that kind of reliability over to the Cubs from here.

If Uelmen impresses during this call-up, it could lead to him earning himself a permanent spot in their bullpen. Time will tell what happens on that front.
