Colorado Rockies Extend Pitcher
One potential trade target is officially off the board, as Daniel Bard has signed a two-year extension with the Rockies. He will make a guaranteed $19 million from the deal.
What a year it's been for Bard. In 37 games for the Rockies, he has a 3-3 record to go along with an impressive 1.91 ERA. With that, he has a career-high 21 saves on the year, so it's clear that he has made a major impact for Colorado - hence the extension.
Plenty of teams would have loved to acquire Bard from the Rockies before the playoffs, but this extension squashes any chance of that happening.
