Jansen has missed the last two weeks because of a heart condition that has been an issue for him his whole career. On the season, Jansen has converted 20 saves with a 3.58 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 47 strikeouts in 32 innings. He will return to his shutdown role for the defending World Series champions.
Darren O' Day is heading to the injured list with a strained left calf, retroactive to July 12. It's unclear how long he will be sidelined, but it's obvious he will be out through the All-Star break.
The thirty-nine year old has had a rough season thus far, posting a 4.15 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 26 strikeouts in 21 innings.
