Boston Red Sox Star Shortstop Staying Put

While speaking with reporters, Xander Bogaerts stated that the Boston Red Sox have informed him that they do not plan to trade him before the trade deadline passes.

Bogaerts' name has come up in the rumor mill, as he can become a UFA this offseason if he opts out of his deal, Furthermore, the Red Sox have been playing terribly. As a result of this, the BoSox are seeing their playoff hopes continuing to evaporate. Yet, even with this being the case, Bogaerts will be staying in Beantown past the deadline.

This is a little bit of a risky move by the Red Sox, as they are running the chance of losing him for nothing during the offseason. Alas, let's see if this decision benefits them, and they surprisingly end up playing fall baseball.
