Athletics Call Up First Baseman

The A's have called up Dermis Garcia to their major league roster. 

This is a big deal for Garcia, as he is set to make his major league debut. The 24-year-old has spent this campaign with Triple-A Las Vegas. In 54 games on the year, he has eight home runs, 30 RBIs, and a .251 batting average.

With Oakland rebuilding, this is a good chance for Garcia to get some MLB time. If he performs well, perhaps he will spend the rest of the year with the A's.
