A's Infielder Set to Return After All-Star Break

Jonah Bride went two-for-four with a three-run home run on Sunday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Las Vegas.

Bride continues to work his way back towards a return to the Athletics roster following a scary on-field collision with teammate Chad Pinder earlier this month.

Olivares hit a harmless looking shallow fly ball but Bride and Pinder both went after it, and with the sun in their eyes it, and their entire attention focused on the ball, it seemed they completely disregarded anyone else making a play for the out. Both players were able to walk off the field on their power, but Bride suffered a right shoulder strain that's kept him out since June 26.

Bride has 41 at-bats for the A's this season, batting just .220/.244/.517, with one RBI.

Bride will work out with the A's on Thursday in Oakland, and the team will decide after that if he needs more rehab games or if he can be activated from the injured list.
