Angels Infielder Getting Closer to Return

David Fletcher went two-for-four on Sunday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Salt Lake.
Fletcher is progressing from surgery he underwent in mid-May to repair his left and right adductor muscles. The twenty-eight year old has batted just .200 in 15 plate appearances in his rehab stint.

There's a chance Fletcher is able to return to the Angels lineup following the All-Star break.

Limited to just 14 games this season, Fletcher has batted an ugly .158/.220/.263 with two RBIs for the Angels this season. He entered the season as the starting shortstop for the Angels after putting together a solid 2021-22 campaign, hitting .262, with two home runs, 47 RBIs, and 15 stolen bases.

The Angels will take any help they can get right now, as they are currently 39-53, fourth in the AL West, and 10.5 games back of the Blue Jays for the third AL Wild Card spot.
