White Sox Infielder Suffers Season-Ending Torn ACL
It was one of those pop-ups that draws a congregation of players from all over the field. In Wednesday's loss to the Toronto Blue Jays, the Chicago White Sox shortstop, third baseman, and left fielder all came together, and unfortunately Danny Mendick and Adam Hasely collided, and Mendick came away with what has now been diagnosed as a torn ACL.

A terrible break for the 31-year-old former 22nd-round draft pick who'd finally established himself in the majors. He had been batting .289 and playing all over the infield.
The White Sox called up infielder Lenyn Sosa from Double-A as a replacement.
The ChiSox also placed Adam Engel -- injured in the same game -- on the 10-day injured list with a strained right hamstring, while recalling Gavin Sheets from Triple-A.
